Pet Shop Boys lanzará una nueva colección de b-sides el próximo 6 de Febrero de 2012 vía Parlophone.El compilado de 2 CDs se titulará "Format" y el mismo cuenta con 38 b-sides y bonus tracks lanzados originalmente en el lapso 1996-2009.
La producción estará disponible vía descarga digital y físicamente en dos discos con su respectivo cuadernillo. La entrevista a Neil y Chris fue hecha por Jon Savage y el diseño nueva vez a cargo del dilatado colaborador del dúo, Mark Farrow.
"Format" se podría interpretar como una continuación de "Alternative" (1995), primer compilado de b-sides del grupo correspondiente al período 1985-1994.
Los temas del primer CD de "Format" son "The truck driver and his mate", "Hit and miss", "In the night" (1995), "Betrayed", "How I learned to hate rock 'n' roll", "Discoteca" (New Version), "The calm before the storm", "Confidential" (Demo for Tina).
"The boy who couldn't keep his clothes on", "Delusions of grandeur", "The view from your balcony", "Disco potential", "Silver age", "Screaming", "The ghost of myself", "Casting a shadow", "Lies" y "Sexy Northerner".
El segundo disco incluye "Always", "Nightlife", "Searching for the face of Jesus", "Between two islands", "Friendly fire", "We're the Pet Shop Boys", "Transparent", "I didn't get where I am today", "The Resurrectionist", "Girls don't cry".
"In private" (7-inch mix) a dúo con Elton John, "Blue on blue", "No time for tears" (7-inch mix), "Bright young things", "Party song", "We're all criminals now", "Gin and Jag", "After the event", "The former enfant terrible" y "Up and down".
Actualmente Pet Shop Boys trabaja en su décimo primer álbum (aún sin título) presto a salir el próximo Otoño.
