Para llevar anotaciones, Sparks está en el negocio desde 1971 cuando se hacían llamar Halfnelson.
No obstante, su carrera se abrazó de la fiebre del New Wave entre 1979 y 1984 y lograron impactar los charts en ambas partes del Atlántico.
Este set de 2 CDs contiene remixes de los hermanos Mael así como los sencillos (y temas b-side) en su versiones originales.
El primer álbum (dotado de 2 CDs) se titula "Shortcuts" e incluye los sencillos "Tryouts For The Human Race", "The Number One Song In Heaven", "La Dolce Vita", "Beat The Clock", "Young Girls", "When I'm With You" y "Rock n Roll People In A Disco World". También "Funny Face", "Tips For Teens", "I Predict", "Eaten By The Monster Of Love", "Modesty Plays", "Angst In My Pants", "Cool Places" y "All You Ever Think About Is Sex".
El segundo CD viene con "Please, Baby, Please", "With All My Might", "Pretending To Be Drunk", "Beat The Clock (Canadian Version) y los B-sides "My Other Voice", "Just Because You Love Me", "When I'm With You" (Instrumental), "Wacky Women", "Don't Shoot Me", "Moustache", "Nicotina", "Sports", "I Wish I Looked A Little Better", "Rockin Girls" y "Sparks In The Dark" (Instrumental).
El segundo compilado (también con 2 CDs) se titula "Extended: The 12 inch Mixes(1979-1984)" y como lo indica el nombre, todos los temas están en versiones extendidas. El primer disco consta de los 8 tracks "Tryouts For The Human Race", Beat The Clock", La Dolce Vita", "The Number One Song In Heaven", "Young Girls" (Disco Version), "I Predict" (Club Mix), Modesty Plays" y "Cool Places" (Doorman s Delirium Mix).
El segundo CD incluye "All You Ever Think About Is Sex" (12 Club Version), "Dance Godammit", "Progress" (Vocal / Extended Club Mix), "Pretending To Be Drunk", "Kiss Me Quick", "With All My Might", "Sparks In The Dark ", "Tryouts For The Human Race" y "The Number One Song In Heaven".
Tanto "Shortcuts" como "Extended" saldrán el 7 de Agosto para estas latitudes y el 13 para Europa vía Repertoire Records.
